Title: Puddle of Tears: Find me in the Rain
Author:
nodoka06
Pairing: Yamada/Chinen
Genre: drama
Summary: Love is like a rain, it can preserve from above, drenching couples with a soaking bliss. But sometimes under the enraged heat of life, love dries on the surface and must nourish from below, tending to its roots keeping itself alive
Doubt. Incese. Insecurities. Misgiving. Confusion.
They are both aware of those. The relationship they currently have is not healthy anymore. Both of them are being so skeptical.
"Yuri please, listen..."
The shorter boy has become stubborn again, sealing his sense of hearing with his small palms, not wanting to hear the explanations his lover would say. Because he knows, those elucidations are just the same. He's angry for the same old reasons, and even how many times he've tried not to feel insecure, he can't. He just cannot.
"How many times do we need to fight over this? There's nothing between me and Yuto-kun..."
Chinen closed his damped eyes. Just by hearing the name pained him even more. He is asking his self, why? Why can't he believe those words?
"I love you, Yuri. You're the only one that I love."
Yamada crept on his side, slowly stretched his arm to have a contact on his lover's silky hair, with the desire of comforting the latter by stroking his hair. But Chinen is immovable, he didn't let him.
"don't touch me! Leave me alone!!"
It kills him to hear his cries. It kills him to see him hurt, hurt because of the things that aren't true. And it repeatedly kills him to know that Chinen already lost his trust for him, now that he believes it is the most important thing they should have in their relationship.
But he is a fighter.
He will not let their relationship to end like that. He'll fight for it. He'll fight for the person whom he love with all of his heart, for the person he depends his life upon, for the person he wants to be with forever. Even if he'll be the only one who's willing to fight for the love they once shared, he'll never give up. Chinen Yuri is worth fighting for.
"Believe me. Only believe on me, not on them. They know nothing. They don't know how much I love you. You're everything to me."
Fearlessly, he put his hands above the shaking hands of the crying creature, inching his self to move closer. And when Chinen let him hold his hands, he put it down from his ears and gave him a warm embrace, full with love and concern, touching his chubby cheek on the smaller guy's cheek which was drenched by his tears. And now that Chinen could hear him clearly he said, "I love you..."
"I'm tired of this already..."
That served to be Chinen's respond. Yamada was taken aback; he never did expect that he'd hear that statement from the most important person for him. He never thought that Chinen Yuri would get tired of their nonsense fights, would get tired of HIM. Because, that would be so unfair! He always tried to understand Chinen when he did something wrong, he always forgive him for whatever trouble or mistakes he did. But now, just because of some stupid rumors and stupid fanservices, He and Chinen are suffering. Chinen is indeed a genius, but when it comes to love, he becomes a fool.
"No!"
He protested, his embrace getting tighter. He wanted to make sure that Chinen will not leave him, he will never let him go away, he will never lose hold of him.
Chinen took a heavy breath and didn't even try to struggle. He's aware that Yamada is much stronger than him; he knows that he can't escape from his hold.
"Then let's play a game. Let's play hide and seek. If you catched me, i'll stay on your side, but if you don't... we're over."
He couldn't understand Chinen's plan. Why do they need to do that? It's like they're gambling for their love. What if he wouldn't find Chinen? He is scared. He is scared that he might not see Chinen ever again, or if ever he would, he fears that he doesn't own him anymore. But he need to be strong and positive. He'll never stop on searching until he find him, and when that happens, he'll make sure that he'll never feel the pain ever again.
A forced nod came and he stood up as Chinen started the game. He leaned to the cold wall facing it, his hand folded upward resting his head on it, covering his eyes full of trepidation. He started counting.
"...8...9...10"
He moved his sight around, in every corner, in every place, but his playmate, Chinen, is nowhere to find.
Silly. That was really a silly game.
He charged on each rooms looking for his squirrel putting on mind that Chinen really did hide only at their shared home. He kept on searching for the little boy even in the most impossible place the latter could hide. He was desperate.
"Yuri ... Where are the hell are you?"
After he roamed the whole place and understood that his playmate wasn't there at all, he hurriedly ran off the house, ran as fast as he could. He doesn't want to lose him, never.
"Yuri!"
He kept on shouting for his name. He went to the beach where they had their first innocent kiss but no luck still. Almost an hour passed, there's still no sign of Chinen, even his shadow is so hard to find.
He was still searching. No plan of giving up. But the sky that used to be so blue went from dark gay and it made him worried. He didn't bring umbrella presuming that it'd not rain, nor Chinen did have. He couldn't contact him through their phones as the latter seemed to turned his phone off. Then, the sky completely turned into almost black and a loud thunder snap accompanied the first few raindrops that fell. The leaves rustled when the air blew mad. Heavy, warm, big drop, it drenched him in a seconds, like an overturned bucket from the sky dumping just on his head. He reached his hands up and out, as if that could stop him on getting wetter. The rain kept on falling and little puddles of water shone under the street lamp. He then remembered a place that he hasn't searched so far.
The playground.
He didn't waste any time to get there. He needs to protect Chinen from the rain, from the loud noisy thunders where the chibi is afraid of.
"i'll be there Yuri, just stay there."
He was praying silently on his head, until he reached the playground. Nobody was there. Who would dare? It was raining. He wanted Chinen to come out on his hiding place, but if he did, the game would be over and he'd be the loser. He needs to find him by his own.
Here and there he ran, not minding the bullet drops coming from the madden sky. A loud thunder was heard again, and when the scary flash appeared on the sky, Yamada felt like someone was calling for his name, calling for his attention to take care of him under the raging rain.
After the marathon of running, he finally stopped when he saw a familiar pink scarf laying on the wet ground. Then he ran again to the nearest place from the scarf. And there he was...
...inside the big penguin slide.
Sitting on a damp and cold ground, hugging his knees, face was hidden and his cries were still audible despite of the noise the rain was making.
Finally, he found him.
He crouched on his side, closing the gap between them, hugging him so tight, and reassuring him that everything is alright.
"I'm now here Yuri, don't be afraid..."
A soft whisper on his small ear but it didn't seem he was heard. Not because he didn't want to listen but he was occupied by his fear, his fear of thunderstorms. Yamada never halt on stroking the chibi's smooth hair, soothing him, protecting him on his warm embrace. Though he was already drenched by the rain, Chinen didn't mind, as long as he is not alone, as long as he is with him, with the person he always need and truly love.
"R-Ryo..suke"
His voice was shaking, same with his body. He was wet as well but Yamada couldn't offer anything to dry him. The angry thunder rumbled that scared Chinen who flinched, and another one came and he jolted, slightly pounced to his prince, hugging him back, almost burying his self on his boyfriend's chest. Eyes closed with his tears were still visible. Tears that were caused by pain, sorrow, and fear.
"Daijoubu yo Yuri, you'll now safe now that I'm here."
Yamada pulled the chibi closer as Chinen snuggled to him. He nuzzled to his ears and softly sang their song.
"Until now, I can't love anyone else except from you
I want to recapture you, very painful ...
Thus, and so like, like, shouting so many times
"Like" inside my heart
Stay in the corner of the street alone, the rain made me wet
The rhythm of the umbrella, just like we heard on that day
is the sound of the rain i do not want to forget...
...the sound of rain."
Chinen calmed down as he heard the sweet voice of his prince and it slightly gave him a tickling sensation. It could be called as a miracle. The rain calmed down at the same time, like the weather depends on Chinen's mood. It stopped completely, the almost black sky slowly changed into an orange dimmed sky, the thunder was gone, birds were chirping outside like they're singing a happy song for the two lovers.
"Arigatou Ryosuke, arigatou..."
That was enough for Yamada. Simple thanks is enough for him, enough to feel that Chinen is safe, and that's because of him.
"Don't do this again Yuri. You've scared me; I thought I'd never see you again."
He brushed his hair that was blocking his beautiful face, caressed those pale yet soft cheeks, both eyes locked upon each others.
A beautifut smile curved on Chinen's lips.
"But you found me right? I know you would."
Seeing those vivid smiles, those angelic eyes, he wanted to melt. He can't be mad at this pretty creature in front of him.
"I'll always be here when you need me, even if you don't need me, i'll always be on your side. Neither rain nor anything could ever stop me on taking care of you, because Yuri... I love you..."
Those small arms that were resting on Yamada's chest crawled up, hugging its neck with those lustrous look he's throwing at him. Yamada smiled sweetly as he welcomed the chibi's pouty and tender lips on his, leaning more close, locking their lips together.
And after some minutes of kissing, they pulled out, both panting as Yamada deepened their kiss.
"Found you."
He beamed and then tapped Chinen on his shoulder reminding him that their silly game was over and he won. And as his prize, he will have Chinen Yuri for lifetime.
